Today's teens need to be financially savvy. It's the time in their
life when they need to learn how to use
money wisely. Many teens have part-time
jobs and are beginning to understand the value of money.
They will also be introduced to the concept
of paying taxes. This is a good time to
teach them to manage a checking account, ATM card
and plan ahead for major expenses, such
as their first car or education.
Our teenFIRST program was designed to give teens money management skills today that help them manage their finances in the future. Topics include:
• Learning to create a budget.
• Learning to write checks and use a free Visa check/debit or ATM Card.
• If employed, understanding the value of direct deposit.
• Establishing credit with a teenFIRST auto loan.
• Learning to balance checkbooks.
Check out our exclusive teenFIRST website
for special articles and financial tips.
The teenFIRST account is available to members
16 and 17 years old and offers benefits
identical to our regular checking accounts. At 18
years of age, the account converts to a
FREE checking with eStatements account and may incur
monthly fees.
Visit any of our convenient branch locations to open a teenFIRST
account. A parent or guardian must be present
and a California ID Card or Driver License will be
needed to get started.
